This painting was commissioned for an interior designer whose client’s home is predominantly traditional, with the intention of modernizing the dining room and creating a space that felt distinct from the rest of the house. The dining room was designed to set a new tone—moody, earthy, and contemporary—while still respecting the home’s classic foundation.
The colour palette is warm and atmospheric, inspired by fall landscapes, fallen leaves, and deep, earthy tones. These hues connect seamlessly with the surrounding chocolate brown and black furnishings, grounding the artwork within the space. The surface is highly textured, featuring a grainy, tactile finish that evokes soil and rock, reinforcing the painting’s connection to nature.
Subtle variations in tone create an abstracted impression of treetops and shifting light, while also hinting at the movement and drama of a passing storm. This layered, organic quality brings depth and emotion to the piece, allowing it to feel both grounding and dynamic.
To complete the work, the painting is professionally framed in a bronze floating frame. The warm metallic finish adds an elegant, refined edge that complements the earthy palette and textured surface, elevating the piece while maintaining its natural, grounded presence.
